Chuck TV show poster - Wood burning by brandojones Chuck TV show poster - Wood burning by brandojones
A wood burning of a poster from the NBC TV series "Chuck". It was super hard because of the size of the people. The smaller heads are about 3/4" tall. I used just a basic wood burning tool.

... Are there non-basic woodburning tools? I was only aware of the one, basically a soldering iron.

Yep! There's a couple of brands available. I have a 'Detail Master' brand and about 10 tips for it. There's other brands that I haven't used, but I've heard they're good. "Razertip" and "Colewood".

I love that show also! It does suck that it's over... =( Was good while it lasted though. I'm glad they didn't cancel it when they were thinking of doing it.

I use this burner:[link] along with this pen: [link] and use different tips for the pen (I have 4 different tips right now). I make an outline on the wood. Use the sharp one to burn the outline. Then use the shading tip to do the rest.
Different types of wood give it a little different effect. Like this one: [link] This is my best one I think, but it was a harder wood which took longer for it to burn. Check out my other burnings here btw: [link] or on my Facebook.

I wish I had the money to buy them all! But I'm trying to sell my own too. Bills and all that boring stuff. If I ever win that darn lottery though, I will personally commission you to do another V for vendetta piece on a wall size piece of wood! :D

Yeah, I know what you mean...=P. Lol, a whole wall woodburning! That would take quite a long time... Right now I'm starting (in the very beginning stages) of doing a wood burning on a 31" x 11" piece of wood. A picture from the video game Team Fortress 2. I'll post it on here once I'm done ;)
